The campaign was called &#8220;Onslaught&#8221; and it had a very worrying call to action at the end: &#8220;Talk to your daughter before the beauty industry does&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>11 years later, Gina Rippon, a British Professor in Cognitive Neuroscience at Aston University (Birmingham) launched <em>The Gendered Brain: The new Neuroscience that shatters the myth of the female brain.<\/em> In her book, Rippon destroys all the typical assumptions (that she qualifies as &#8220;neurotrash&#8221;) according to which there is a female and a male brain. Brain, per se, does not have a gender. In a manner of speaking, men are not from Mars and women are not from Venus. Gender in our brains is not due to structure, but to the messages and bias this part of our body receives from minute 1 in society. Brain plasticity is key in learning and re-learning roles. To Rippon, &#8220;the fact of investigating how our world is making our brain change helps us to understand how our brain really is and what can we really achieve with it&#8221;.
